City's senior citizens enjoy seaside fun on the Mayor's Day Out.

Friday 18 August 2017

Since 1986 the Mayor’s Day Out has taken place every summer, bringing untold pleasure to many thousands of Cambridge people. It is a highlight in the Cambridge social calendar and is greatly looked forward to by local senior citizens from year to year - a treasured chance to meet up with old friends, meet new people and enjoy the sunshine in good company.

This week, several hundred of Cambridge’s senior citizens visited Great Yarmouth with Mayor Cllr George Pippas, where they spent the day enjoying time by the seaside, traditional fish and chips and a Beach Boys Tribute show at the Britannia Theatre listening to hits including Good Vibrations, California Girls, Fun, Fun, Fun, Barbara Ann, I Can Hear Music, Wouldn’t It Be Nice and many more!

Two members of the party commented, ‘Brilliant Day. Organisation was brilliant, really impressive.  It’s our first time and we couldn’t fault it!
