Welcome to the 2015/16 series

Award-winning percussionist Dame Evelyn Glennie is our new Artist in Residence and to celebrate her fiftieth birthday, Debbie Wiseman (composer of the score for BBC TV’s Wolf Hall) has composed a brand new piece which Evelyn will be playing in the final concert of the series in June 2016.

Our resident orchestra the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra performs three out of our seven concerts this year, while its outreach wing, RPO Resound, will continue to inspire young musicians with a range of innovative education projects.

For the first time this season we welcome the RPO’s Principal Conductor Charles Dutoit and also extend a warm welcome to maestro Vladimir Ashkenazy who conducts the Philharmonia Orchestra. With a return visit from the ever-popular European Union Chamber Orchestra, a unique ‘In Conversation’ evening with Dame Evelyn Glennie, a concert by the Moscow State Symphony Orchestra and a début appearance from Dresden Philharmonic, this promises to be a season to remember.

Whether you are a seasoned concert-goer, a loyal subscriber, or are dipping your toes into classical waters for the first time, we hope to welcome you soon.
