Secondary Ticketing FAQ

If I can no longer attend an event can I get a refund?

In most cases Cambridge Corn Exchange does not offer refunds. However, if an event is sold out and there is a waiting list Cambridge Corn Exchange will endeavour to pass your tickets on. In such instances your Cambridge Corn Exchange account will be credited with the cost of your booking, minus any booking fees, the balance of which will never expire and can be redeemed against any future Cambridge Corn Exchange booking.

If you would like to join a waiting list or would like to register your tickets for return, please phone the Box Office on 01223 357851 or contact us via email at tickets@cambridge.gov.uk before the day of the show.

We regret that we are only able to offer this service to customers who have booked through Cambridge Corn Exchange.

Can I list my ticket for sale on a ticket resale site?

Cambridge Corn Exchange does not prohibit individuals from listing their tickets on secondary ticketing websites. However, as per our terms and conditions, tickets may not be listed for sale above face value.

Box Office staff regularly monitor ticket resale sites and if an individual is found to be selling above face value, Cambridge Corn Exchange reserves the right to cancel the tickets and deactivate the user’s account indefinitely.

What do I do if I have bought a ticket from a secondary ticketing website?

If you have bought a ticket from a secondary ticketing website we cannot guarantee its validity. Although the majority of customers who have bought resold tickets do gain entry, in a small number of cases individuals may have sold seats that do not exist or may have sold them multiple times. In this instance, Cambridge Corn Exchange are happy to provide evidence that entry has been denied so that you may claim your money back from your credit card company.

What websites do you recommend for buying and selling tickets?

There are several websites that we would advise customers to use when buying or reselling tickets.

These include, but are not limited to:

If you have any questions regarding safe resale websites, please call the Box Office on 01223 357851 and staff will be happy to advise.

What should I look for when buying online?

Cambridge Corn Exchange advises against buying any ticket where the seller has not provided seat details, for example row and seat number. The face value of the ticket should also be clearly advertised.

Some websites will also charge processing and handling charges, so please be mindful of these fees as they are unlikely to be refunded if you do not gain entry to an event.

If you are booking for a standing event, such as live music, the ticket should be listed as GA (general admission).
