European Union Chamber orchestra makes a welcome return with an evening of pure musical enchantment.

Catrin Finch is one of the most accomplished harpists of her generation and teases out all the sensuality of Mozart’s sublime Concerto for Flute and Harp before doing justice to the rich harmonics of Debussy’s Danses Sacre et Profane. Haydn’s Symphony No.55 is richly textured and playful; the dotted rhythm of the second movement reminiscent of the wagging finger of a schoolmaster, from which the Symphony derives its nickname.
