Come and delve into the wonderful world of two classics of children's literature, The Gruffalo and Room on the Broom.  Not only are the books are firm favourites on any child's bookshelf these heartwarming stories have now been turned into family-friendly films. Watch Julia Donaldson and Axel Scheffler's much-loved characters spring to life before your eyes, and enjoy the live music written by performed by acclaimed orchestra Britten Sinfonia. The live score has been composed by René Aubry especially for the films and he perfectly captures the spirit of these two tales. 

The Gruffalo

Join Mouse as he goes for a walk in the woods, cunningly avoiding danger as he goes, little does he know what is lurking round the corner, after all - surely there's no such thing as a real Gruffalo..?

Room on the Broom

This is the tale of a witch who goes for a ride on her broomsitck but keeps losing things - luckily she meets some friendly animals who help her to find them again. As a thank you she offers them a ride, but it soon becomes clear that a broomstick is no match for a hungry dragon!

Britten Sinfonia

Britten Sinfonia are one of the world's most celebrated ensembles and are a perfect fit for composer René Aubry's music.  They are an unusual ensemble in that they do not have a principal conductor or director, instead choosing to collaborate with a guest artists - this gives their performances a real enegry and vibrancy.
