FEIS ROIS

 

Established for more than thirty years, Fèis Rois plays a leading role in promoting and developing traditional music in Scotland.

 

Every year, this pioneering organisation provides opportunities for thousands of musicians to get involved in workshops and performances, and creates hundreds of paid gigs for Scots performers. One of their most successful initiatives is the Ceilidh Trail, which gives young musicians a chance to earn money and learn about the music industry, while providing high-quality ceilidh music for visitors to Scotland’s tourist attractions. In the two decades that the Trail has been running, many of Scotland’s leading folk musicians have benefited from the opportunities it offers, including Mairearad Green, Rachel Newton, John Somerville, Fraya Thomsen and Mischa Macpherson.
