Now in her fifth decade of writing songs and performing, American songwriter, singer, musician, and author Janis Ian is one of the most celebrated icons of the 20th century. After entering the folk music scene as a teenager in the mid-1960’s, Janis has built a career around writing intimately personal songs with wide-reaching melodies. Her songs have been recorded by singers as diverse as Cher, John Mellencamp, Celine Dion, Hugh Masakela, Nana Mouskouri, Charlie Daniels, Nina Simone, and Roberta Flack.
