José González has a recognisable trademark sound incorporating delicate, autumnal classical guitar with wistful, melodic vocals. José González is of Argentinian descent and grew up listening to Latin folk and pop music citing Cuban singer songwriter Silvio Rodriguez as one of his favourite.
José González‘s newest record, Vestiges & Claws is his first in seven years, released in February 2015 and produced by González. It consists of years’ worth of musical sketches that in other hands might naturally sprawl wildly in sound and style, but on Vestiges & Claws González has created a collection of songs that cohere just about perfectly, ensuring his position as one of the most important artists of his generation.
