Front of House Manager
£29,000 - £33,000 per year
Full time (37 hours per week)
This exciting role requires a committed and focussed person who can continue our progression of delivering a wide range of shows and commercial and private events across Cambridge Corn Exchange and the Guildhall. We are looking for someone who has previous experience of leading a team in a live event environment, who has a passion for the arts and events and is highly motivated and organised.
This is a hands-on role where you will have a number of reports and will be expected to lead by example, manage front of house and facilities staff, coordinate rotas and staff training, and improve and maintain a high standard of service.
Your attention to detail, professionalism and high standards of health and safety will be second to none. You will remain calm under pressure, be open-minded, be well-organised and a good problem solver.
You will need to be front of house focused, be client/customer orientated and have exceptional and extremely strong communication, man-management and inter-personal skills. Excellent customer service experience is needed as well as the confidence to deal with difficult situations in a pressurised environment.

Welcoming Cambridge Live customers into one of our prestigious premises is the key role for an Event Steward. The role requires strong customer service skills to assist our audiences with any queries or concerns. You will coordinate entry and exit to/from the building and direct in the event of an evacuation which may be carried out in accordance with Cambridge Live’s evacuation procedures, if an emergency arises.
You will be a visible face of the company, ready to answer questions, and to assist visitors and clients ensuring the highest possible levels of customer care. You may be required to use radio to assist communication with both internal colleagues and external customers & clients. You may handle sales of programmes, merchandise and confectionary.
You will need to have flexibility to work shifts across a range of working patterns including evenings, weekends, and bank holidays.
