Fenland 1816, the end of the Napoleonic Wars: wages are low; prices are high; employment is scarce; and the harvest failing. A volcanic dust cloud spreads across Europe and America. Fenland explodes in riot and six rioters will hang.

Historical author Gareth Calway narrates the cataclysmic events of May-June 1816 as seen by a soldier, John, returning victorious from the Napoleonic Wars. Folk-balladeer Andy Wall interweaves a musical narrative with six stirring ballads, combining pathos, defiance and humour, as returning sailor Jack.

Suitable for adults and young people (minimum age 11yrs, under 16s must be accompanied by an adult)
