The original idea behind Innovations in Ceramic Art was to provide a platform for artists selected and featured by Online Ceramics to meet and interact with the buying public. We know that buyers greatly value the opportunity to learn more about the maker and the techniques employed in the creation of ceramic art. Makers too find the feedback stimulating and valuable in their work, as well as giving them an opportunity to sell direct without having to pay gallery commission.

Now extended to over 55 artists, Innovations in Ceramic Art 2018 will showcase the work of leading makers many of whom have pieces in the permanent collections of world class museums both here in the UK and abroad.

This year we set a challenge for 4 artists – Marion Stuart, Jo Gifford, Wendy Campbell-Briggs and Sarah Villeneau to create an installation space in the small Guildhall. Wendy and Sarah, who first met and became friends at Innovations in Ceramic Art in 2015, will collaborate on a piece to include 5 large sculptures by Sarah and hundreds of small porcelain pieces by Wendy.

Innovation in Ceramic Art is an initiative of Online Ceramics Gallery supported by The Craft Potters Association of Great Britain and Anglian Potters. Anglian Potters will showcase the work of local artists in the small Guildhall and will be on hand to discuss their activities and sign up new members.
