In his new book Balancing Acts, he offers an intimate, behind-the- scenes look at some of his lunatic failures and dazzling success stories during his tenure including The History Boys, War Horse and One Man, Two Guvnors. From pioneering the National Theatre Live cinema broadcasts to working with leading actors Alan Bennett, Maggie Smith and Daniel Day Lewis, he has been instrumental in changing the public perception of theatre’s purpose. Join Hytner for a candid, intimate and insightful exploration of the art and alchemy of making theatre.
