Maizie, original singer from the very birth of BONEY M, is now joined by three dynamic singers who are celebrating the success of the second BONEY M re-mixed album, “THE GREATEST HITS OF BONEY M”.

Dario G - Formed in Cheshire, England the group are best known for their 1997 hit "Sunchyme", which reached number 2 on the UK Singles Chart.

The Selecter - The legendary 2-Tone artists are led by their iconic frontwoman Pauline Black alongside an incredible talented band of musicians, including Neil Pyzer (Spear Of Destiny) Will Crewdson (Rachel Stamp) and co-fronted by original member Arthur ‘Gaps’ Hendrickson (who features extensively on Subculture). 

Desmond Dekker Band the Aces - Jamaica’s first international superstar, Desmond Dekker passed away on 25th May 2006. A decade on, good friend and fellow musican, Delroy Williams has finally bowed to the demands of fans and re-launched the Aces, partnered by his good friend, Glenroy Oakley, formerly the lead singer with Greyhound.

The Treatment - Local Cambridge band have been flying the flag for British Rock and Roll since 2008!

The Dowsing Sound Collective -  The immersive sound collective founded in Cambridge that has in the last two years alone collaborated with global stars Basement Jaxx, song-writing legend Boo Hewerdine, rising folk stars Megson, beat boxer Skilly Skillz and ‘the high wizard of electro dub’ Dirty Freud - return to the Big Weekend on fine form.

Early afternoon: International day featuring The Trojans, RSVP, Electric Jalaba, Charanga del Norte

The Trojans - Specialising in ska and reggae with a dash of soul, funk, R&B and world roots.

RSVP - Spearheading the renaissance of live Bhangra in the UK, they're always guaranteed to get even the most reluctant on their feet, and leave audiences breathless with excitement.

Electric Jalaba - It’s an original and uncontrived fusion of musical influences with a nod to the worlds of jazz, techno, funk, psychedelic rock and Desert blues.

Charanga del Norte - They play a mix of Cuban and New York charanga dance music from styles such as the Cuban son, danzon, mambo and chachacha to 1960s pachanga.

Late afternoon: Cambridge Mela featuring Raghav, Panjabi MC, Jay Kadn, Nash ft Shayal, Komii G and VP Ents Dancers & Dhol Drummers!

Raghav - Canadian singer Raghav, has enjoyed huge success across the globe. He ramians one of the elite few Asian artists who have managed to break into the mainstream charts. 

Panjabi MC - Booming bass lines and catchy rhythms will have you tapping your feet and singing along. A performance not to be missed.

Jay Kadn - To many, he’s known as Junai Kaden but after a break from the industry, the artist has reinvented himself with a new name and an exhilarating new sound. ‘Jay Kadn’ has returned to the scene to the delight of his ever-growing fanbase.

Nash - Nash is producer Shayal's first developed Asian artist and is now ready to release his music and a new unique sound on the world! The sound is a mix of Shayal’s signature RnB, Hip Hop with Punjabi influences.

Komii G - Komii G is an upcoming female vocalist fusing both Panjabi & RNB. Her new single 'Take It Slow' featuring Raxstar is out in July. Komii G is a prime example of young fresh talent bringing you the best of your RNB vibes with an Indian twist.

VP Ents Dancers & Dhol Drummers - This Bhangra and Dhol outfit have enjoyed the privilege of performing at some of the most prestigious events across the UK at London’s V&A Museum and at the World Sikh Awards to Channel 4’s Paul ‘O Grady Show. They also performed at the Olympic Games and added additional sparkle and glitz as well as ‘desi’ flavour to the proceedings!
