In praise of the European Day of Early Music, Bach’s birthday (‘Boureé’!) and the commencement of a joint education project ‘Roots’, ‘Joy and woe are woven fine’ in a programme including Byrd, Tallis, Victoria, Britten and Dove, with Monteverdi’s dramatic rendering of La Sestina at its centre-point. The programme includes a short presentation by students from the project ‘Roots’, delivered in partnership between Cambridge Early Music, Cambridgeshire Music, the Faculty of Music at the University of Cambridge and Anglia Ruskin University.
