We’re living through a resurgence of interest in eating healthily and well and a renewed emphasis on fresh, local produce. This event presents two of our most enthusiastic food writers: Felicity Cloake with her latest book Completely Perfect: 120 Essential Recipes for Every Cook, and Niki Segnit, author of bestselling The Flavour Thesaurus, and most recently Lateral Cooking, which exhorts cooks to break free of the tyranny of the recipe and nurture their culinary instincts. They’ll discuss their passions for ingredient-led cooking and their insatiable interest in food.

Niki Segnit’s first book, The Flavour Thesaurus, won the André Simon Award for best food book, the Guild of Food Writers Award for best first book, and was shortlisted for the Galaxy National Book Awards. It has been translated into thirteen languages. On BBC Radio 4, she has contributed to The Food Programme, Woman’s Hour and Word of Mouth, and her columns, features and reviews have appeared in The Guardian, The Observer, The Times, The Times Literary Supplement, The Sunday Times and Prospect magazine. She lives in London with her husband and two children.

Felicity Cloake is a popular writer specialising in food and drink and the author of six successful cookbooks. She is a past winner of the Guild of Food Writers awards for Food Journalist of the Year. Cloake has rigorously tried and tested recipes from all the greats – from Nigella Lawson and Delia Smith to Nigel Slater and Heston Blumenthal – to create the perfect version of hundreds of classic dishes. Completely Perfect pulls together the best of those essential recipes, from the perfect beef wellington to the perfect poached egg.
