The 2016 launch of the Jhalak Prize for Book of the Year by a Writer of Colour was a key moment in this new wave of initiatives. Sunny Singh, co- founder and chair of the Prize, will discuss writing, diversity politics, publishing and prize culture with two of 2018’s longlisted authors, Preti Taneja (also winner of the 2018 Desmond Elliot Prize for We That Are Young) and Leone Ross, whose collection Come Let Us Sing Anyway is shortlisted for the Edge Hill Short Story Prize.
