Chaired by Claire Shanahan of the BBC, this lively panel discussion will feature Tibor Fischer, Lucy Luck and Philip Gwyn Jones.

Tibor Fischer’s new novel “How to Rule the World” is out on 5th April 2018 and follows, alongside other works, two short story collections “Don’t Read This Book If You’re Stupid” and “Crushed Mexican Spiders: & Possibly Forty Ships”.

Agent Lucy Luck began in publishing in 1997 as an assistant at Rogers, Coleridge & White. She set up her own successful agency in 2006, before formally joining Aitken Alexander Associates. She has worked at C+W since 2016.

As Publisher-at-large for Scribe UK, Philip Gwyn Jones commissions a handful of carefully curated books each year. He has worked with multinational publishers, independent publishing houses, charities championing writing and writers, universities, literary festivals and organizations promoting literature. He will collaborate with anyone devoted to the life of the mind and the clearer communication of the lives and minds of others. Philip was a judge for the National Short Story Awards in 2014.

The Institute of Continuing Education (ICE) is home to the University of Cambridge Centre for Creative Writing, and this panel discussion is designed to open your mind to new possibilities in your reading and writing. Other events on the day include, talks, workshops, and a panel discussion. Book a full day for a maximum of £30. If you are still eager for more and wish to indulge in a 3 course meal alongside hearing from Cynan Jones- winner of the Short Story Competition last year, why not add dinner for £35?

If your writing would benefit from some fine-tuning and professional feedback, why not sign up for a 1:1 supervision with one of our specialist tutors? Dr Sarah Burton, Professor Jem Poster and Dr Lucy Durneen will be available for consultation throughout the day. Book in advance by email to zara.kuckelhaus@ice.cam.ac.uk, specifying which tutor you would like to see, and when.

If this day-long festival merely whets your appetite, why not try our Creative Writing Retreat which follows on from the event from 8-13 July.
