LGBT History Month 2016 Showcase

Cambridge is proud to be hosting the National Pre-Launch event for Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Trans (LGB&T) History Month 2016.  The event highlights the contributions of Britain’s LGB&T communities in the run-up to the month long programme of activities taking place across the UK and beyond in February next year.  The theme for LGB&T History Month 2016 is Religion, Belief and Philosophy

Members of the local community are welcome to participate in the national launch by attending:

1.       The Rainbow Bus containing information and resources about LGB&T History Month will be parked outside Boots on Sidney Street, Cambridge from 10am.

2.       The Marketplace, taking place in the Old Hall, from 3.30 – 7.30pm, which will bring together a range of different information and service providers including; Schools Out UK, Cambs City & County Councils, SexYOUality, the Encompass Network, NUT, Student Christian Movement.  Entry to the Marketplace is free and can be accessed from Queens Lane, off Silver Street.

3.       The Evening Gala Event, compered by Cyril Nri & Claire Mooney.

7:30pm - 9:00pm

The gala event brings together a mixture of speakers, performer and thinkers, with highlights from Labi Siffre and Mark Jennett. Tickets cost £5.50, with all proceeds supporting the delivery of LGB&T History Month 2016.
