If that’s too long to wait for your film festival fix then head down to Grantchester Meadows this August Bank Holiday, for Cambridge’s most prestigious outdoor film event, Movies on the Meadows.

Returning to Grantchester for the 9th time, and with a reputation for delivering a bigger and better event each year, 2017’s Movies on the Meadows will run from Friday 25th to Monday 28th of August and promises to be the most ambitious event yet. Presenting more than 14 films on huge inflatable screens in one of Cambridge’s most picturesque settings, Grantchester River Meadows to an estimated audience of over 2,500!

Leading the impressive lineup of titles for Sunday is the undisputed queen of classic Hollywood musicals, Julie Andrews in THE SOUND OF MUSIC.

If the classics aren’t your things then we have animated family favourite SING and, thanks to a partnership with India Unboxed, Bollywood smash hit, BAJIRAO MASTANI, a multi award winning, epic historical romance set against a backdrop of war and intrigue during one of the greatest eras of Indian history.

So pack up a picnic or browse the many food and drink stands, then untangle your headphones and get ready for what promises to be four days of magical summer cinema.

This is a 'silent disco' screening so you will need to bring a (returnable) deposit of £5 in cash for a radio which you can use to listen to the film through headphones. We strongly encourage you to bring your own headphones although if you do not own a pair that you can bring, we will have some you can use.

Full event details including film listings for all four days are available at  www.camfilmfest.com/grantchester
