From the austere to the ornate, the grounds and gardens of King’s College present a unique historic landscape with a rich story to tell.

King’s College is famous for sweeping vistas over close-cropped lawns leading to views of the stately Chapel, or those from the bridge over the Cam, to Clare College upstream and Queens’ College down.  However, there is more to their grounds and gardens than iconic views.  Our garden tour will take in the side courts, the Arts and Crafts style Provost’s Garden, a hidden roof garden and the very beautiful Fellows Garden, beloved by Max Walters, Fellow of King’s who went on to become Director of Cambridge University Botanic Garden 1973–83 and originator of the seminal botanical text, the European Garden Flora.

In place of payment, a voluntary donation to Macmillan nurses at the end of the tour would be gratefully received by King's College.
