2018 is nearly upon us and today we’re pleased to announce that one of undoubted highlights of next year, the e-Luminate Cambridge Festival is now on sale.
Throughout the city some of Cambridge’s most famous buildings and colleges will feature dazzling light installations created by some of Europe’s top artists and designers. This popular Festival, which attracts thousands of visitors to Cambridge opens on Friday 9th February 2018 and the spectacle will continue each evening until Thursday 15th February.
Alongside the incredible light displays there are loads of fabulous events, talks and workshops to get involved with. Our guest curator Dr. James Fox hosts a special Colour Talk at the Cambridge Union and Professor Giles Gaspar presents a talk and interactive exhibition looking at how colour and light dominated the work of medieval thinker Robert Grosseteste.
Join Lucinda Price in the Cambridge Guildhall for a special Light Painting Workshop or maybe you fancy taking part in the Wine Tasting Experience at Hotel du Vin in an attempt to discover if colour can affect our perception of wine.
The Glow Games make a welcome return to the 2018 Festival, so make sure to put on your fluorescent outfit and enjoy fun games of short tennis and table-tennis, the special equipment UV lights means that you and your team will be glowing at the games!
