Fireworks & Bonfire Night

Opening times: 6pm-10pm

Firework Display Time: 7pm - Please note the earlier start time than in previous years.

2017's fireworks show will be held on the evening of Saturday 4 November on Midsummer Common [Go to Google map for Midsummer Common]

Donations of at least £3 per person are encouraged.
In order to create such a superb free public display of this scale, in addition to support from the business community, contributions from the public are essential.

Terms and conditions


In the interests of safety people are urged to view from the official viewing areas of Midsummer Common and Jesus Green only.
Viewing will not be possible from Elizabeth Way Bridge.
The Midsummer Common side of Elizabeth Way Bridge will be closed to pedestrians for the duration of the display.
Viewing is discouraged in front of the boathouses north of the river Cam, which is behind the fallout zone for the display.


Please note that there will be no buses dropping off or picking up on Maid's Causeway by Midsummer Common. This is to increase the safety of people arriving and leaving Midsummer Common before, during and after the event.

Madingley + Milton pick up from Victoria Avenue

Trumpington + Newmarket pick up from Short St

Babraham pick up from Emmanuel St

Cambridge Live partners with East Anglian Children's Hospice

East Anglia’s Children’s Hospices (EACH) provide care for children and young people with life-threatening conditions across East Anglia. EACH provides families flexibility and control over where they receive care and support, whether it be in the home, in hospital or at one of our hospice sites in Cambridgeshire, Norfolk or Ipswich.
Across Cambridgeshire and at the hospice in Milton, EACH currently provides care for 229 life-threatened young people and family members. When time is short, EACH helps families make the most of their precious time together and create memories that last for ever.
