Advance safety info

General

  • Do not bring fireworks or sparklers. It is a criminal offence to set off fireworks in a public place and sparklers are dangerous in crowded areas and in the hands of children.
  • Please take responsibility for your children and arrange your own family meeting point should you become separated.

While every precaution will be taken to ensure the safety of spectators, stewards and St John Ambulance will be on site to deal with and record any accident or injury.
If you need any information or assistance ask one of our stewards.
The site headquarters and St John Ambulance are located together on the Victoria Avenue side of the common opposite the main firework arena.
For the duration of the display, additional St John Ambulance crew shall be positioned at either corner of the firework arena beside the river.

  • Viewing will not be possible from Elizabeth Way Bridge.
  • The Midsummer Common side of Elizabeth Way Bridge will be closed to pedestrians for the duration of the display.
  •  Viewing is discouraged in front of the boathouses north of the river Cam, which is behind the fallout zone for the display.

River closure

  • The river Cam will be closed to all river traffic from 7 to 8pm between the Fort St George public house and Cutter Ferry footbridge.
