Is publishing really ‘hideously white and middle-class’ and is this the reason that writers from other backgrounds are under- represented in the bookshops and on bestseller lists?
What is being done to address the imbalance? The panel will explore these questions and offer hope to writers of all backgrounds that they will have a fair chance to see their stories published. On the panel are Julia Kingsford, The Good Agency, Siena Parker, Penguin Random House and Kit de Waal, writer.
