In The Inner Level, they turn their attention to the impact on the individual. Inequality affects us all – not just materially, but psychologically: how we think, feel and behave. Wilkinson and Pickett will challenge the concept that humans are innately competitive and self- interested, look at the role played (or not) by ‘natural’ differences in individual ability, and lay out the path towards a society based on fundamental equalities, sharing and reciprocity.
