CUBG Friends' events: Helmingham Hall and Ickworth

Helmingham hall boasts a beautiful park, with its red deer, spectacular moated Hall in mellow, patterned red brick and its famous gardens, extensively redesigned by the current Lady Tollemache, a Chelsea Gold medallist. The whole combines to give an extraordinary impression of beauty and tranquility.

The historic Ickworth House Park and Garden in Suffolk boasts a collection of hexagonal stones from the Giants Causeway and a Victorian stumpery. There is a fine herbaceous border with boldly coloured plants and the park contains some of the best examples of ancient specimen trees, including oak, beech and hornbeam.
