Lemn Sissay was adopted at birth and placed in foster homes and institutions from the age of 12, and he sold his first self published poetry collection to miners on the Warrington picket lines aged 18.
Today Lemn Sissay MBE is one of the nation’s most respected, exciting and versatile poets. His Landmark Poems are installed throughout Manchester and London, he is Patron of the Letterbox Club, a regular contributor to the BBC and was official poet for the London Olympics 2012.
Come and hear his story plus readings from the much awaited collection, Gold from the Stone, a mixture of new writing and his best-loved poems. Join us for an ear-opening event and be moved, amused and inspired.
