The superb period-instrument group, The Revolutionary Drawing Room, play three ground-breaking string quartets: Haydn's op. 20, no. 5 (1772), Mozart's K387 (1782) and Beethoven's op. 59, no. 3 (1808), linked by their creative use of Baroque fugal writing. Fanfare magazine thought the playing of the Revolutionary Drawing Room 'the best kind of period-instrument performance, secure and undidactic'.
